The majority of my decisions were based not on pushing myself farther or add in a curveball to enhance my experience, but to choose the option which gives me more of a contented and relaxing life.
I shun promotion, I turn away from offers that would promote me, be it to join a rock band or write/promote a book or anything that strays from the sense of ease. That’s not too say I choose the familiar, in fact the opposite is true, I do try alternative paths, I question and tread the crooked avenues.
What some people see as means to enhance life experience, to climb the ladder of success, to stare into the glare of fame and seek that pedestal on which to stand doesn’t run true with me.
I could think of nothing worse than being the figure that people look up to, to point a finger at and nod approvingly.
My decision, was, and always has been to stand in the shadows, the watcher of the unfolding world, to question yes, but to engage and take the lead, I leave that for others to gorge on, may there be sufficent bread in my stomach, and water to quench the first, and the milk of human kindness, and others can seek that Golden fleece.
I learn as I experience, and I will not allow the child instinct of wonder to die.
