I’m more inclined, as a Libran, so it is said, to remark on my pet peeves with nothing more than a “oh well,” and move on.
So let’s deal with the first most irrational and weird, peeve….. Uncovered foam laid bare for people to brush against, namely me, especially if I am wearing coarse fabric. I guess that’s more to do with how my brain is wired, no idea, I hate walking past foam, by that I mean the yellowed sickly polyurethane stuff. As peeves go, as irritations…it’s hardly going to set in effect a dominoes syndrome leading to mutually assured world destruction, but… it’s a peeve.
I hate snidey people. Those who cross picket lines when you’re on strike, those who deny what they said to better their cause, because they was wrong in the first place so rewrite history, narcissists and liars, those who create false narratives, to say I had said or done this when I hadn’t, who will talk and justify behind your back when clearly you should have been present at that discussion. Snides. The world is full of them, Smeagols/Gollums/Traitors.
Lastly, needless technology. We don’t need self serving tills, we need to help each other and create jobs. The endless March of A.I. And robots, ‘they’ said we will get more leisure time. We won’t, they’ve been saying that since I left school, I’m still working the same hours. Technology isn’t there to make our life easier but to create more profit. That’s fine if that’s your reason for living, the accumulation of wealth. Personally I’d like to see people happy. Robots and the sodding sickly voice telling me there’s an unexpected item in the bagging area just makes me want to hail the luddites and destroy the would be nemesis in front of me.
