It all begun as as a nark, an irritation on a viewpoint that is common in the blogs and vlogs of the influencers and opinionated. There is a big difference in offering your outlook for others to judge, to demanding it be accepted without question.
Even if that opinion is well meaning, to offer it as sacrosanct and not to be questioned becomes arrogance and narcissism.
It were in fact the question of ‘appropriation’. Its a subject that seems to come up more and more in reviews and discourse.
Is it right to follow a path that is rooted in a culture differing from your own? The saying remembered is, The Rose shall not bow to the Lotus, nor stand in its bed. Although not intended to project national and cultural pride many would assume this statement to be one born from elitism.
What is appropriation?
Every culture outside of the middle east could be labelled as appropriating a middle eastern religion (Abrahamic) particularly as the scriptures were translated first, and then adapted by a King, with variations to support his ideas rather than being accurate to the original text. And these translators of course had nothing to do with the original cultures of the area they promote.
Another example- writing on the lores and adding subjective ideas behind the Druids, or Celts, hypocrites ! On the basis it is highly likely that the authors of these books on what was primarily oral tradition were more than likely descended from the ancestors who actually slaughtered the druids.
Every Wiccan following Gardner likewise, he, who copied bits of this and that. From Qabbalah to Freemasonry. Appropriation exists everywhere! Understandably, if someone is making profit perhaps we could cite exploitation, in which case remove from the shelf every book on such subjects written by scholars and researchers. Understandably also, if the subject is not dealt with respectfully and fully then certainly there could be a claim for argument.
Everybody and everything is a movement of plagiarism, that’s called evolution.
So, in order to avoid such nonsense, perhaps each then creates their own deity, and alike the accusers that trapped them into this position it would be the highest form of narcissism, thus;-
the declaration to, the evocation of, the oblations for…. themselves.
A continuation of a dream induced exercise, viz~Spell 125… let us add to the cauldron spices of other flavours….
NOTE: The following uses fonts from Sanskrit, Chinese and Hebrew scripts, I realise that this may show up differently, or not at all in some browsers etc. I’m not a tech geek , just a scribbler, so sorry if its all question marks and gobbledegook….
Conjuration of Thyself, based on Archetypal traits enamoured with your being. For the avoidance of appropriation.
