Spell 125 ~ The Descent

An Absurd meander in wonderland on the nature of Judgement.
No caterpillars hookah was used during this surreal dance

In all works, there is wisdom, this arrives at us, it is not from us. To Understand it requires knowledge, our function of knowledge. In Qabbalah this is Chokmah and Binah. We Understand Wisdom by means of objective logic, of science, of study, of research, of experience and history, we analyse and compute and even though there is an element of our subjective behaviour we intend in as much as possible to arrive at our conclusions by means of pure objective reason. Wisdom that is not ours, then becomes ours only by means of our understanding of it, our interpretation of it.
All works here upon the Tree of Life and the tree of Death are of the nature of balance, between the two , the median and the harmonious.
Rumi, that great poet, was born on the last day of September, his poetry flows and gives images and thoughts arrising, this is as wisdom. We interpret it by our ‘reason’, and St.Jerome, that great translator and scholar dies upon the last day of September. Viz: Where poetry is born, so too its commentary dies.

The Following is as is written, a rambling prose.

It began as a project, that I would create my own “Volume of Sacred Law”, A book to represent the self that sits atop the altar, acting as a statement and foundation for the declaring priest, viz;-Me. It would, being a double Libran, or at least he that were born on the full harvest moon, be a dedication to both Ma-at and Thoth, because its obvious, it’s meant to be. the Double Truth, Double Maati.

“What does it mean then Rumi?” I asked of the poet sitting beside me in the gardens of the Kensington where my dream world is paralleled, I was ruminating (see what I did there) on the negative confessions as given in “The Book of the Dead”, standing before 42 assessors to declare each statement;-
“Because”, I continued, “I’ve pretty much sinned nearly all these here, in fact looking at the list I might as well throw myself to the crocodiles already?”
Rumi said nothing for a moment and then suggested,
” Then write them in the script of the architect, and the builder, between them then sits the judge?”
I awoke the next morning and compiled the 42 laws, the ‘problem’ with “spell 125” from which the 42 laws are taken is that there are many variants, some names preside over different virtues or are listed in different places etc.

My argument in all things is, why 42, why not 12 or 17 or 36
42 =32 paths plus 10? this image arose as I pondered, why 42? it seemed to me a shoehorned answer. The 32 paths of Qabalah, and an additional ten Sephirah? perhaps the obverse Sephirah… it was tenuous.

Alike any good story from the Fae, the brightest star in the sky (not including IAOPater who shines magnificently in this autumn and winter season), but Sirius, below the belt of Orion, it shone like a beacon of hope, a lamp in the cave where all hope is lost, the web being cast before Robert the Bruce’s pessimism, ah yes;-
The Sothic cycle of repetition being 42 years.

Again and also in lucid ritual work I was told to analyse the natural number 7 and 12 with regards to 42, (being divisible at 6 and 3.5 ?) but I have no idea the significance of this and tend to get disillusioned by all these distractions, jam tomorrow, dangling carrots etc.

Of course 42 is the answer to the universe according to Douglas Adams in hitchhikers etc. lol, which as a contemporary zeitgeist is significant.

I finally saw an image of Bodicea upon a hillside before the sacking of Camulodunum (modern Colchester), she released the Hare which run true and thus the battle was assured “Run my sweet beloved Hare for Victory”. Boudicca is derived from old English meaning Victory. This is Netzach in hebrew- The Green hill. The HAre has a gestation period of 42 days

So from the murky world of dream and behind the creative curtain.
The 42 ‘assessors’ were as seen, given, remembered, the Hebrew was as I imagined, I then had to cross reference and begin to study the ‘nonsense’ I had compiled.

Wot’s this all about then Guv’nor ?;-
The Random musings of a nobody. “Dagenham Dave”, is slang for someone one stop short of Barking (mad), though more contemporarily refers to any wayfaring and carefree person. Dagenham is a town to the eastern side of London (Luds Dominium) that was first recorded in a Barking charter in 666a.d. as the town of Daeccanham. Daecca is an ancient man’s name meaning ‘bright’ or ‘famous’ . Ham is short for Hamlet.
Dave is short for David, Hebrew for ‘Beloved’, My Surname ‘Wenborn’ derives from old English meaning of the Winding Stream.
