It would be a day of Nature.
The Internet would be switched off, yes, Off, and TV and Radio and all streaming sites and every satellite mobile phone. Were it not for peoples fridges and freezers I’d suggest turning the electrical grid off too, though nuclear sites of course need powering down over weeks, which isn’t feasible. The capitalists would be happy as people would rush out to buy private generators and solar panels et al.
The spirit really of the holiday however is to reacquaint with nature. There are two ways the holiday could be celebrated, The community goes out to clean the rivers, the filth in the parks and forests, or perhaps just a day to actually, really reflect and relax in peace without distraction or judgement.
There would be a ban on commercialising the holiday, no cards or presents or icons to buy to show the world, ” yep, I’m celebrating.”
I realise it wouldn’t perhaps be a very popular choice, people want their bite sized distraction 30 second videos on tap, media to appease their hopes and dreams in their own self deluded algorithm, we all want to feel wanted and a day without expression? without being?
As for what day it should be celebrated? I will say the day of the Autumn Equinox, where Nature herself begins to rest, Obviously the southern hemisphere would be Spring, this means there would either be a mass migration of holiday makers from the north hemisphere to the south, God forbid losing a day’s social media/News/Look At Me day...Or we alternate the holiday, Autumn Eq’-North/Spring Equ’ South first year, then change next.
The Equinox represents equilibrium., that really is the symbolic gesture.
As a species we have long since forgotten the relationship and symbiotic life we should have with nature, millennia have passed since we were kicked out of ‘Eden’, or sang the song of the Devas, or wandered as Nomads declaring the Earth is our home, not the confines of one walled in place.
If the thought of losing access to anything technical or social media or detaching from the algorithm matrix fills you with dread, then that is good, it acknowledges we understand our slavery to a false design.

The Random musings of a nobody. “Dagenham Dave”, is slang for someone one stop short of Barking (mad), though more contemporarily refers to any wayfaring and carefree person. Dagenham is a town to the eastern side of London (Luds Dominium) that was first recorded in a Barking charter in 666a.d. as the town of Daeccanham. Daecca is an ancient man’s name meaning ‘bright’ or ‘famous’ . Ham is short for Hamlet.
Dave is short for David, Hebrew for ‘Beloved’, My Surname ‘Wenborn’ derives from old English meaning of the Winding Stream.
