Imagine reciting the full title of this book to a bookseller or library, Its not Flyfishing by J.R.Hartley, with the full title you also know that it is going to be a full transcript and facsimile of a manuscript held by a recognised museum or library, the Manuscripts in question being listed and scanned where needed, but more importantly fully transcribed including the work by the great Frderick Hockley.
For those familiar with Shemhamhorash this is a definitive and concise volume, and obviously that goes for the curious and fledgling.

The whole theory being Shem’ is based around three verses of Chapter 14 of Exodus, Versus 19,20 and 21, each verse of which are comprised of 72 letters. (See picture)
By using the first letter of the first verse, the last letter of second and again the first letter of the third verse we are given the angelical name of the first Angel (V H V ) , this repeated throughout, ;-viz~ 2nd letter, first verse, 71st letter second verse, 1st letter 3rd verse ( I L I) and so on.
To these were assigned psalms, prayers, sigils, all of which are transcribed and noted in this Aeon Sophia volume.
As with publications of this nature, it is not so much a book to be read, but studied, and ones own research conducted. Some have come to their own system by using the first verse in reverse, second natural, third reverse, some split the verses etc, in as much, it is possible thereafter to become obsessed with the process, and no doubt maddened.
The text describes the 72 Angels as each occupying 5° of the zodiacal wheel. so the first Angel VHV would occupy/rule over the first 5° of Aries. Six Angels thus rule in total in Aries and this gives us the 6×12=72 total. The 12 being the number of months, also the number of tribes of Israel, each tribe therefore associated with both the particular month and the six Angels of Shemhamhorasch.
For study and research, dabbling and serious ceremonial work, this book delivers all that could be wanted and needed in this particular and niche field. The student/adept will lose themselves calculating the number of each angel, of all six in a section, of all 72, and all combinations thereof.
It would be interesting to know how or who stumbled upon this curious ‘code of ShemHamHorasch, if indeed they stumbled at all and were not themselves instrumental in creating these verses such the way that they are, and that, of course must have been the originators/writers of the Torah as it was. It must have been, for whatever reason contrived, and as occultists we seek therfore to unravel the reason and complexities of the system.
Assigned to this the possible connection with those 72 Solomonic Daemons-parallel perhaps~ The Goetia and the possibilities become endless, though Goetia is not referenced within this book, dealing entirely with the Shem’ system.
It is a shame this book is limited to 300 copies but feel sure it will be reprinted as it is an essential reference work that sits boldly amongst anything ‘Stephen Skinner’ and ‘Golden Horde’ press who also and famously release wonderful and detailed facsimile/ studies of Occult manuscripts, sometimes overtly scholarly but no stone is left unturned.
Coupled with the Shem’ in this volume is the Divine Cabala ~ the book of names, a full description of the letters of the Hebrew system and a study of IHVH, that great ‘ineffable’ name of God, the unpronounceable Jeohvah.
In all, perhaps it is not indispensable or essential, study of this and other Cabbalist works are available on that muddled mess of the WorldWideWeb if you are masochistic enough to delve into this material that way, but I’m very happy that I managed to blag a copy for the bookshelf.
AFTERWORD
I have uploaded a 16 page signature from The ‘Devas Sublime’ Grimoire/BOS Vol 1, which, this section, has been converted into digital form, which hopefully would serve as an easy guide for those interested (and, cross referencing with the Aeon Sophia book tallies.)
