Music Creation ~ Whether its guitar, song composing, modular synths, its a hobby that is always learning, never ending and therefore doesn’t become repetitive.
Music Collecting/Listening ~ indulging in the art of ‘crate digging’ record shops, looking for obscure genres of music, new bands, old bands and generally discovering the vast almost infinite array of music out there. with streaming its easy to play those tracks, there’s just something about holding a tangible object.
Writing ~ the creative, writing short stories, diary entries, journals, observations, why watch passively the TV when the mind can create its own drama.
Reading ~ I collect and read books, normally occult/esoteric/spiritual and also Folk horror/ gothic masterpieces.
Making ‘things ~ whether its building models from ‘Airfix’ type kits (good for the eye/hand coordination and patience, or bookbinding, making my own large tomes that I write and draw in. Perhaps some electronic project, making strange sound mangling modulating boxes, seeing objects of art in museums and recreating my own spin on them.
The Orphic path ~ in order to understand the divine we create that which resides in our images.
Writing Prompt 23rd January ( List Five Things I Do For Fun)
The Random musings of a nobody. “Dagenham Dave”, is slang for someone one stop short of Barking (mad), though more contemporarily refers to any wayfaring and carefree person. Dagenham is a town to the eastern side of London (Luds Dominium) that was first recorded in a Barking charter in 666a.d. as the town of Daeccanham. Daecca is an ancient man’s name meaning ‘bright’ or ‘famous’ . Ham is short for Hamlet.
Dave is short for David, Hebrew for ‘Beloved’, My Surname ‘Wenborn’ derives from old English meaning of the Winding Stream.
