Writing Prompt 4th Oct ’23 (What Skill to learn?)

Daily writing prompt
What skill would you like to learn?

Undoubtedly had I taken guitar lessons when I first picked up that instrument instead of being self-taught I would have saved myself years. The level I am at now after 40 years playing could’ve been reached conceivably after 3 or 4 years with a tutor… perhaps… though I do have my own unique style/sound.
I could also say the same thing about learning keyboards/synths and my latest fiddling mancave hobby Modular synthesis. But I wont go and be taught, Ill persevere, make lots of mistakes, consult a few you-tubes and forums and carry on.
No-one taught me how to express, but I’m going to take the plunge and do a course, yes a course with a tutor, in creative writing.
My hobby is hobbies, and all of them from bookbinding to model making to music-playing, composing, scoring, mastering, using photoshop and the cumbersome bloated Microsoft office software etc, all years of intrigue, probing and trying to dismantle each clock before seeing how it works.
What skill would I like to learn? None, because we all have the ability to learn, so if you don’t like it, you wont do it.
What skill would I like to have!….Is a different question and matter… and that would be the art of social interaction. I distrust people, I find interaction awkward to the point of autistic interpretation. It is like a theatre, a game and a drama and I interpret everyone as playing some role, the subjective behaviour becomes the actors plot, their personality and character assessment all contrived in order that they project whatever part they appear to have chosen. But I have learnt that skill by experience, and in fact, its a skill I’d rather not have, but would rather live in ignorance, faith and trust. But Ignorance, faith and trust are things I don’t like… so I wont do it.

Wot’s this all about then Guv’nor ?;-
The Random musings of a nobody. “Dagenham Dave”, is slang for someone one stop short of Barking (mad), though more contemporarily refers to any wayfaring and carefree person. Dagenham is a town to the eastern side of London (Luds Dominium) that was first recorded in a Barking charter in 666a.d. as the town of Daeccanham. Daecca is an ancient man’s name meaning ‘bright’ or ‘famous’ . Ham is short for Hamlet.
Dave is short for David, Hebrew for ‘Beloved’, My Surname ‘Wenborn’ derives from old English meaning of the Winding Stream.

They’re not reviews as such- to recommend or asway, I neither seek to promote nor condemn, more my personal reflections on the books I read. In that respect it’s a subjective thing.

Short stories borne from imagination, dreams, thoughts and wanderings. Too large to be written in my journal of shadows.
