What heritage? what Culture? If I looked deep into my history be it race or culture (which mostly somewhere would be a melting pot) It is a history of forced submission to whatever those that control decided to adopt. In a Christian country (the United(?) Kingdom), my heritage alike those across Europe, North and South America and the whole of Africa was wiped out and rewritten, so I am incognito, unknown. I am ‘subject’ to a religion/system/society that preaches love and forgiveness but which eliminated by force culture, people and history, that’s not a contradiction of ideals but a perverse ideology.
All history and heritage is passed down to us by nature of who won the fight, war is not to see who is right, but only that which is left.
My heritage is then personal Gnosis. I was always taught to fight for the ‘underdog’, not out of sympathy , sincere or false, but that by circumstance we could all be that underdog.
When things are subject to design, we cannot evolve, we cannot deviate, rewrite or better the concept. The written word and indeed the structure of any culture or heritage is an image that when idolised creates elitism and separation from anyone who dares to express their relationship with life in a different manner or way.
I am not proud of any religion or culture that cannot see the Earth is Land Sea and Sky, there are no borders. We are all different and that is our beauty.
I am not proud that society is built upon patriarchal ideals as the people I most love are my mother, sisters, wife, daughter. I have heard it said that the only people who should be in a position of authority are mothers or Gardeners. They know inherently or by experience the value of nurturing, adapting and creating without the iron fist…. But this in itself is an idealistic and subjective approach assuming a warrior or ‘Alpha’ male cannot create a place where we all look out for each other and help each other regardless, so again, my ‘pride’ is to love the ‘underdog’.
