First published in an underground Occult magazine1 the following poem, in essence questioning whether wisdom is obtained by parrot fashion and learning this, that and the other as detailed by him, them , her and so on. The Akashic Records2 on the other hand does away with the need for hefty price tags and subjugation to the promised land as delivered by the ‘real’ temple or the ‘true’ order, that requires the ‘student’ to pass lengthy trials and always promised “jam tomorrow”.
I work in lucid dream, and also the Orphic way, whereby creativity is allowed to arise with little or no interception. Stories, art, music etc created without pre planning, just improvised and automatic. I have not come across visions of libraries where you can pick a book and read, for the most part, words are difficult to see in dream as they merge into symbol or as you analyse, you fall into another dream. It is with discourse to strangers in dreams who gave the answers, and no matter who these ‘strangers’ are they do not tell me to fast for 60 days and keep a pure mind fixed on a word etc, they certainly do not require boons or sacrifices but just answer a question I have. The Goetia, and the 72 daemons of Solomon are also likewise conjured by many to answer, though it is said they lie. It is only, I have found, those orders, temples, cults that give ambiguity. Wisdom, when heard is known, there is no ambiguity.
Head bowed he recites a thousand verses
Commits to memory all he learns,
And pays the school a thousand purses
Seeking knowledge, sacred all.
With each door a mystery new
More steps to tread, more tempting;
With each question hunger grew
The thirst for wisdom grasping.
“Remember This!” master demanded,
“Remember all”, and more,
“Feed the mind” master commanded
Study, learn, recall.
Years passed by, but not the aim,
The study ever new;
In Fact! More study was to blame
More paths, more books all due.
Piecemeal the quest for light was dim,
And he began to question,
Master so admonished him,
And gave more arcane lessons.
A thousand volumes in his mind,,
A million thoughts remembered,
And a billion things yet to come,
That master yet has rendered.
His knowledge of the occult was vast,
So too his reasons constant
And every rite that he had passed
was sorely unrelenting.
But! o’er there, that smiling man
whose mind? so clear and empty
Never seen a book in hand
nor filled his mind.. but emptied.
And when the thoughts of mind were clear,
The answers that he sought
…………were there.

1/ Elsewise Magazine V.3. London. ( there were three versions of this magazine, one general publication c 300 per issue. One Limited and final c.100 and a later edition v.3 that was re-edited with some errors and corrections.
2/ The Akashic Records are believed to be a cosmic library or database of information that contains every thought, word, and action of every soul that has ever existed. It is thought to be accessible through deep meditation or trance-like states, and can provide insights and guidance on spiritual matters, past lives, and the soul’s journey. I cannot verify whether this method contains every thought word action etc, but does deliver answers to questions that I have explored, with the exception of questions like, Who was Jack the Ripper et al, also intrusion into persons alive and their abodes seem to be barred though this may be more mental barriers in ‘here and now’ astral work.
